Poseidon (Greek Ποσειδῶν - “shaking the earth”) is the god of the seas in Greek mythology, one of the three main gods - Olympians together with Zeus and Hades. Son of Cronus and Rhea, brother of Zeus, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia. At the division of the world after the victory over the Titans Poseidon got the water element. Gradually he pushed away the ancient local gods of the sea: Nereus, Oceanus, Proteus and others.
